Frequently asked questions
Short answers to what agencies ask before they start. If yours is missing, ask us.
How do we get started?
Request a demo. We create your agency, add your first cars with you and show your team the desk. We set up every agency ourselves: there is no online sign-up.
Do we get our own website?
Yes. Every agency has a booking website with its cars, prices and availability, at an address like youragency.rentoth.com. Customers send booking requests from it and you confirm them in the dashboard. You can also connect your own domain name.
Does Rentoth send emails to my customers?
Yes, automatically, for bookings made on your website: the customer gets an email with their reference as soon as they send the request, then an email when you confirm, decline or cancel it. Your agency gets an email for every new website booking, at the agency's address, the account owner's and, if you want, one more address. A contract's signing link can also go out by email. Emails to customers carry your agency's name, are written in the customer's language, and their replies reach your inbox. The agency is also emailed when a customer signs a contract online and before a car's papers expire. Four switches in Settings turn them off: new website bookings to the agency, emails to customers (signing links included), contract signed, and car papers. Rentoth sends no SMS and no WhatsApp messages: the WhatsApp buttons open a chat.
Can we use our own domain name?
Yes. Your website starts on youragency.rentoth.com. To use your own domain, such as www.youragency.ma, enter it in the dashboard and add the DNS record it shows at your domain provider. Once the record is in place, we verify the domain and your website opens on it. The domain stays yours.
Which languages are supported?
The dashboard and the websites are available in Arabic, French, English, Spanish, German and Italian, and contracts and invoices print in the same six languages. Arabic reads right to left.
Can our contracts be in Arabic?
Yes. The rental conditions of your contracts can be written in Arabic. Rentoth includes ready-made conditions written for Moroccan agencies in Arabic, French, English, Spanish, German and Italian: use them as they are or adapt them, and save your own versions. A contract's language does not have to be the dashboard's.
Are electronic contracts valid?
Yes, as a simple electronic signature. Moroccan law accepts an electronic contract as evidence when the signer can be identified and the document is kept intact. Rentoth records the time, the IP address and a fingerprint of the signed content, then locks the contract. It is not a qualified signature, so it is not presumed reliable: check the renter's ID at the desk and keep the signed copy. Ask your lawyer about disputes.
Do you take payments for us?
No. You record the payments you receive (cash, card or bank transfer) and the deposits you hold. Rentoth does not handle your customers' money.
How does Rentoth handle the deposit?
You set a usual deposit for the agency, or a different amount for a given car; customers see it on your website and in the contract. For each rental you record the deposit you take and how it was paid. At the return you mark it as returned, partly retained or retained, with the reason: only the retained part is added to what the customer owes. Deposits never count as income in the cash journal, and Rentoth never holds the money.
Does Rentoth prevent double bookings?
Yes. Before it saves a booking or a change of dates, Rentoth checks that the car is free, including when two requests arrive at the same moment, and it respects the days you have blocked. A request sent from your website holds the car for up to 3 hours while you answer; without an answer, the car is available again and you are told in the dashboard.
Does Rentoth warn me before the insurance or technical inspection expires?
Yes. For each car you enter the insurance, registration and technical inspection due dates. Rentoth alerts you in the dashboard 30 days before, 7 days before and on the day, and shows them on the calendar. A rental these dates do not cover is refused, on your website and at the desk, unless a manager decides to override it. A car whose papers have expired disappears from your website. These alerts are also emailed to the agency's address and its managers, in one email a day at most, and a switch in Settings turns these emails off.
Can Rentoth track our cars by GPS?
Yes, with your own trackers and read-only, in one of two ways. If your trackers already report to a platform (Wialon, Traccar, Navixy, GPSWox or flespi), Rentoth reads it with a read-only access from your installer. If not, compatible trackers (Teltonika, Concox, Queclink, Coban, Ruptela and others) can send their data straight to Rentoth's own tracking server; a tracker pointed there stops reporting to an installer's platform, unless it can send to two servers. You get a live map of the fleet, each car's last position, speed and ignition, the kilometres at pickup and return for your staff to confirm, and alerts when a car moves with no rental or its tracker goes silent during one. It works only once your agency has its own CNDP prior authorisation and has switched on the contract's geolocation clause, and no position is recorded during a rental recorded in Rentoth whose contract does not carry it. Reading your platform is included in every plan; trackers that send directly to Rentoth's server have a monthly fee per tracker, shown on the pricing page. Your installer's fees, the SIM cards and any platform subscription stay at your cost. Rentoth never cuts an engine, sends no command to a car, and does not sell or install trackers.
Our trackers (Teltonika, Concox…) are not on any platform. Can we still use them?
Yes, if they are ANRT-approved models of a brand Rentoth's tracking server receives: Teltonika, Concox (GT06), Queclink, Coban (GPS103), Ruptela, Sinotrack (H02) or TK103 clones. Once your geolocation clause is on with your CNDP number, a manager enables the hub in the Hub tab of Tracking and adds each tracker with its identifier (usually its IMEI), its brand and its car. Your installer then sets the tracker to send to the server and port the dashboard shows. Test one tracker before the whole fleet. A tracker that sends only to Rentoth stops reporting to an installer's platform, app or engine cut-off, unless it can send to two servers. Each tracker on Rentoth's server has a monthly fee, added to your subscription and shown on the pricing page and in the Hub tab before you enable it; the tracker's SIM card and mobile data stay at your cost.
Can we run several agencies or rental points?
Yes, in one account. Add your rental points (office, airport, train station, port) with their address, phone number, opening hours, Google Maps link and meeting point, then assign each car to one of them. On your website, customers search by city and filter by rental point. One website and one subscription cover all your points; the plan depends on the total number of cars. All your points share the same team, the same cash journal and the same legal identity (ICE, RC) on invoices.
Can we limit what staff can see and do?
Yes. Each person has their own login, with one of two roles. A manager can do everything except change the agency's Settings, which only the account owner can save. Counter staff handle bookings, contracts, payments, returns and the cash journal, but cannot delete a car, a contract or a rental point, change the agency's settings, the website, the domain name or the team, see the Rentoth subscription, or override expired car papers. Logins are unlimited on every plan, and a deactivated login keeps its history. Everyone can also protect their login with two-step sign-in, and a manager who uses it can require it for the whole team.
Can we export our data?
Yes, yourself, as CSV files that open in Excel: the bookings (as the list is filtered), your customers as found in your bookings and contracts, your cars, and the cash journal for any period up to a year. Every contract and every invoice prints or saves as a PDF. Rentoth has no export to accounting software; for anything else, we provide an export on request.
Who owns the data?
Your agency does. We process it for you to run the service. You export your bookings, customers, cars and cash journal yourself, as CSV files, and we provide an export on request. See the privacy policy.
Where is the data hosted?
Outside Morocco, with specialised hosting providers. The privacy policy names each provider and the country where it processes data, and explains how these transfers are covered under law 09-08. The data remains your agency's, and we provide an export on request.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. The dashboard, the website and the contract signing all work on a phone, a tablet and a computer.
How much does it cost?
Plans are sized by the number of cars: see the pricing page. Every plan includes every feature and unlimited users, with no setup fee. Trackers that send directly to Rentoth's tracking server are the one option billed apart: a monthly fee per tracker, also on the pricing page.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. The pricing page shows how long the free trial lasts, and there is nothing to pay until you choose a plan. As for every agency, we set up your account with you after a demo.
